Only a few times a year our puggles get to travel to Northern Michigan (Leelanau County) to visit our hometown. They LOVE it! These two city dogs turn into all out country dogs.
Here are a few pictures from their hike at the Houdek Dunes Natural Area and Peterson Park.
This was the last role of toilet paper in the house…My instinct was to be upset, but how can you be mad at this face!
Well this might just be their big break, because Maddy and Cormac will appear on the HGTV show, ‘House Hunters’ ! My husband and I been very busy the past month searching for our first house and were lucky enough to be selected to have our process documented by House Hunters. Here’s a few sneak peaks of the puggles posing for the camera.
The other day Cormac wouldn’t stop licking his foot. I figured he just stepped in something tasty, but when I took a look at it, his paw pad was injured! Part of it looks to have torn right from his foot. Poor lil’ guy.
I put some antibiotic ointment inside the flap of skin, which he didn’t like, but tolerated because I gave him such good cuddles afterward!
Every year, I like to make mulberry rhubarb pie from the berries that grow in our backyard. But whenever I go picking, the puggles are right at my heels eating any berries that drop! They LOVE mulberries..! So if you’re wondering, “Can dogs eat mulberries?” The answer is yes! (The only side effect of consuming them is black droppings.)
If the puggles had their way, every morning we’d all just laze away the day. I’ve read that with dogs, their “home base” is where ever you are. If we sleep, they sleep. If we’re on the go, so are they! It’s amazing how adaptable they are, isn’t it?
A few weeks ago we decided it was time to clean out the wood pile. I don’t know if everyone’s puggles are like ours, but our puggles LOVE chewing on sticks. They were sad to see the wood pile go!
Maddy took one last stick for herself!
So I found a stray pitbull a week ago on my way home from work. She was running across 8-mile (detroit). You can follow her recovery blog at savebella.wordpress.com while we try to find her a forever home.
Below is a video of Maddy meeting Bella (the pitbull).
